Pat Perry’s piece for 2016’s Murals in the Market at Eastern Market telling the story of a declining civilization during the Oil Age.
Detroit is famously known for being dubbed as Detroit Rock City, Motorcity, or Motown. More recently, the city of Detroit is taking on a new name for itself and making a slow change to the city of hundreds of graffiti murals. Believing that these murals bring comfort, safety, and economic development to the city of Detroit, Murals in the Market will be returning for its fourth consecutive year this September.
