Thank you to everyone who attended Suits & Recruits Presents New Year, New Career on Thursday, January 7th. With a sold-out event and complete waiting list, the first annual event hosted by Think 313 turned out to be a major success! The evening offered multiple services and networking opportunities. Lines quickly formed for the event’s two most popular services: complimentary resume evaluations and professional LinkedIn photo head shots. As strolling appetizers and complimentary drinks made their way throughout the room, attendees mingled with one another and actively engaged in all the event had to offer.
Two rounds of speed meet and greet with JMJ employees were quickly filled with attendees interested in applying for open positions or interested in gaining the expertise of the JMJ Phillip brands. Moreover, interested job applicants could apply for positions of interest in person, allowing for a greater likelihood of getting further into the hiring process. Attendees and JMJ employees alike expressed their enjoyment and the pleasure of attending the unique business mixer.
“A lot of people enjoyed the relaxed setting and laid back approach of networking we brought to the event,” stated Rachel Hamblin, Executive Recruiter of JMJ Phillip Executive Search. Attendees could challenge JMJ employees in a game of ping-pong or bowling for chances to win extra raffle tickets. Raffle tickets were used in drawings for two $25 Subway gift cards, two $25 Bigby gift cards and a Samsung Surface Pro 4 tablet with a keyboard accessory (worth over $800).
Multiple guests inquired about additional networking events sponsored by JMJ Phillip Holdings and went on to early RSVP for upcoming networking opportunities. “The event’s positive feedback was extremely gratifying. We value our employees’ happiness as well as the individuals and communities that we connect with and when we’re able to integrate it all together, that’s truly something special,” said James Phillip, Managing Director of Think313.
Fleece & Thank You, a partnering non-profit organization, was able to spread it’s mission and network with other Metro Detroiters. “Thank you to our friends in Detroit last night for supporting us! We met some incredible people running amazing organizations,” stated on Fleece & Thank You’s Facebook page. The organization is dedicated to help comfort warriors at the hospital with love and support by creating and delivering handmade fleece blankets. They offered attendees of Suits & Recruits the chance to participate in being a part of the Fleece & Thank You donation process, whether by tying a knot on a blanket, recording a message for a warrior, purchasing merchandise or making monetary donations.
More than complimentary services offered throughout the entire duration of event and venue, people expressed the delight and appreciation of being able to connect to locals with similar interests or simply interested in making a difference. “I really liked speaking to people about why they were there and seeing if there was anything I could do to personally help them [in their career path].” continued Hamblin.
As JMJ employees prepped for the event, many expressed their excitement of the company’s first event of its kind; nevertheless, the event’s success and sense of gratification that was felt consumed the team. “It was so lively and unlike any other networking event,” said William Melville, a new addition to the JMJ team. “It really made me feel good to be there – to be here [at JMJ].”
