It’s that time of year, where the holidays just seem to creep upon us. As we approach head first into the start of our holidays and begin by giving thanks for the things we have and those we love, we tend to forget others. Besides from Thanksgiving coming up quickly this week, another fast approaching holiday event is Black Friday. The largest shopping day of the year.
Each year on this day, the mall opens a little earlier and stays open a little longer. Each year on this day, those who make it possible are torn away from their families or miss out entirely on spending quality time with their loved ones. These are the same people who give up their holiday, year after year, to ensure that each shopper can extend the festivities during the day by shopping into the night.
As of date, many retailers have begun the tradition of opening the night of Thanksgiving. This requires the employees to leave their homes in midst of dinner at 4 or 5 PM to ensure that doors are open by 6. In return? Many of these employees are faced with aggressive, impatient, and angry guests in stores due to sold out items or long wait times.
We here at Think313, alongside your favorite friendly faces at your favorite stores, only ask for a little kindness and a little patience when shopping on Black Friday. These employees are working tirelessly throughout the long hours of the night, with times they did not choose, and during an occasion they would rather be spending back at home.
Treat each employee with respect and patience throughout your shopping experience and please remember; missing out on the opportunity to buy things at discounted price may not be memorable in the future but the memory of a kind gesture lasts a lifetime.
Happy Thanksgiving from your Think313 family, we hope it’s filled with laughter and love.
